By booking lessons with Learn & Turn Driving School, students agree to the standards set out in this policy.
1. Our Commitment to Student Safety
The safety and wellbeing of our students is a priority at all times.

All lessons are conducted in accordance with UK road safety laws and professional driving instruction standards.
2. Safeguarding Policy
Learners Under 18
Learn & Turn welcomes learner drivers who meet the legal age requirements for holding a UK provisional driving licence.
When providing lessons to learners under 18 years of age, we will:
- Maintain professional boundaries at all times.
- Act in the best interests of the learner.
- Provide a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Take any safeguarding concerns seriously.
- Report safeguarding concerns where required by law.
Parents or guardians may contact us regarding lesson arrangements where appropriate.
Vulnerable Adults
We recognise that some learners may be considered vulnerable adults.
Our instructors will:

- Make reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
- Communicate clearly and professionally.
- Report any safeguarding concerns through appropriate channels.
Zero Tolerance

- Threatening behaviour
This applies to instructors, students, visitors, and anyone interacting with our services.

4. Instructor Code of Conduct
All Learn & Turn instructors are expected to maintain the highest professional standards.
Our instructors will:
- Behave professionally at all times.
- Treat students with courtesy and respect.
- Maintain appropriate personal boundaries.
- Follow DVSA guidance and professional standards.
- Arrive punctually whenever possible.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and roadworthy vehicle.
- Respect student confidentiality.
- Communicate clearly and honestly.
- Avoid inappropriate language or behaviour.
- Prioritise student safety above all other considerations.
Instructors Will Not
Instructors must not:
- Engage in discriminatory behaviour.
- Harass or intimidate students.
- Use offensive language.
- Smoke or vape during lessons.
- Use mobile phones while teaching unless legally and safely permitted.
- Engage in any conduct that could compromise learner safety.
Any instructor found breaching these standards may face disciplinary action.
5. Student Expectations
Students are expected to:
- Treat instructors respectfully.
- Follow instructor guidance.
- Attend lessons on time.
- Maintain appropriate behaviour.
- Notify us of any concerns regarding lessons.
Threatening, abusive, discriminatory, or unsafe behaviour may result in lesson termination and future bookings being refused.
6. Complaints Procedure
Learn & Turn aims to deliver high-quality driving instruction and customer service.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, we encourage you to contact us so we can resolve the issue promptly.
Step 1 – Informal Resolution
Many concerns can be resolved quickly by contacting us directly.
Please provide:
- Your full name
- Contact details
- Lesson date(s)
- Instructor name (if applicable)
- Details of your concern
We will aim to respond within 5 working days.
Step 2 – Formal Complaint
If you remain dissatisfied, you may submit a formal written complaint.

- Full details of the issue
- Relevant dates
- Supporting information
- Desired outcome
We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and provide a full response within 14 working days where possible.
Step 3 – Escalation
If a complaint relates to instructor conduct or professional standards, additional investigation may be undertaken.
Where appropriate, complaints may be referred to relevant regulatory or professional bodies.
7. Confidentiality
All safeguarding concerns and complaints will be handled confidentially wherever possible.
Information will only be shared where necessary:

- To protect the safety of individuals.
